Conferences
Biennial Conferences are promoted by a branch of the ILA in its respective country. The most recent, in 2008, was hosted by its Brazilian Branch in Rio de Janeiro, between August 17th and 21st, with the participation of about 700 people.

Highlights of the 73rd Biennial Conference of the International Law Association (ILA-2008)
- Proposal for the creation of the so-called "International Protection of Consumers" by the Brazilian branch. After the corresponding steps, the new Committee was approved and began operation in November 2008, chaired by Professor Claudia Lima Marques.
